It's not even 9:00 and I've already practiced almost 2 hours today. I'm headed off to take a test I haven't studied for at all. I'm not sleeping well and I'm always tired. I can't get to sleep quickly at nights. Today I have much to do. I woke praying that God would help me to see each waking moment as a joy since it is a chance to pursue Him. But that is a struggle for me in the midst of frustratingly slow progress, infrequent and undisciplined practice, tests not yet prepared for, and pathetic friends who make up stories about other friends and then whine to you about them.
This isn't supposed to sound whiny. Pray that God would allow me to get better sleep. Also pray I'd find the strength and opportunity to practice more and practice more effectively, which will cut down on my frustration a good deal.
Meanwhile, I'm hourly choosing to live on the joy side of the Christian life. If you've not read/heard Dr. Reymond's so-titled sermon, you should.
